Terms of Service
Effective date: [Effective date — e.g. September 1, 2026] · Provided by [Your Business Name]
1. Acceptance
By installing or using Speed Snitch you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. Acceptable use
- Use the app only where it is legal to do so, and only on drivers who know they are monitored.
- Do not use Speed Snitch to stalk, harass, or covertly track any person.
- Do not operate the app’s controls while the vehicle is in motion.
- Do not reverse engineer, resell, or attempt to bypass subscription controls.
3. Not official citations
Citations produced by Speed Snitch are private accountability notices between household or fleet members. They carry no legal force, are not government records, and create no obligation enforceable by law.
4. Subscriptions, free trial and billing
- Speed Snitch includes a 14-day free trial with full access to every feature. After the trial an active subscription is required to keep using the app; your saved trips and citations remain on your device.
- Speed Snitch is an auto-renewable subscription priced by protected drivers, billed monthly or yearly (Solo Driver $2.99/month or $29.99/year, Two Driver Family $4.99/month or $49.99/year, Family Plus $7.99/month or $79.99/year), following the 14-day free trial.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; renewal is charged within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel any time in your Apple ID account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when a subscription is purchased.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s Media Services terms; we cannot issue App Store refunds directly.
5. Family and fleet responsibilities
The account owner is responsible for obtaining consent from every driver added to the app, for the penalties and rewards they assign, and for the accuracy of the notification destinations they enter. Penalties are enforced by your household or organization, never by us.
6. GPS accuracy limitations
Speed, location, posted limits and stop-sign positions come from device GPS and from community-maintained OpenStreetMap data. They can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong — especially in tunnels, cities, or on recently changed roads. Always follow the actual posted signage and your vehicle’s speedometer. Do not rely on Speed Snitch for legal, insurance, or safety-critical decisions.
7. Limitation of liability
The app is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, [Your Business Name] is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any accident, injury, citation, fine, or loss arising from use of or reliance on the app. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the subscription in the twelve months before the claim.
8. Account termination
You may stop using the app and delete it at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms, unlawful use, or abuse of the service.
9. Intellectual property
Speed Snitch, its name, artwork, voice content, and software are owned by [Your Business Name] and licensed to you for personal, non-transferable use. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, used under the Open Database License.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms; continued use after an update means acceptance. Questions: [your-support-email@example.com].
Draft: this document is a starting point provided with the app and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Because Speed Snitch handles location and driving information, have counsel review and customize it before public release.
